Electrical Industry Ordering System Launched on the Web

Full-line electrical distributor cites convenience and lower transaction costs as on-line ordering advantages.

A full-line electrical distributor based in Hartford, Conn., CLS, Inc. recently launched one of the industry’s first web-based ordering systems, enabling customers to source and order electrical, lighting, and datacomm products/supplies over the Internet, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The CLS Web Order Entry system, found at http://www.clsco.com., allows “one-click” access to real-time inventory and customized pricing as well as account and shipping information. You can conduct product searches by type, manufacturer, or previous ordering history. Customized account, invoicing, and ordering options are available for companies with multiple facilities or purchasing groups. The site links to more than 100 manufacturers’ web sites. No proprietary software is required. Founded in 1926, CLS is a supplier to electrical contractors, engineers, and in-house plant/facility personnel nationwide. The company maintains an inventory of more than 10,000 SKUs from the nation’s leading manufacturers. For more information, contact CLS at (800) 842-8078.
