E-Business Service for Subcontractors Launched

The first comprehensive e-business service specifically designed for smaller construction and subcontracting firms is now under development by SmartContractor, a new Seattle-based provider of Internet-based solutions. SmartContractor's e-business service (SmartContractor.com) is designed to help subcontractors increase job site productivity and lower procurement and administrative costs.

A beta version of the "e-marketplace" for electrical contractors (SmartElectrical.com) is up and running, with additional vertically focused portals coming in August. Initial trades serviced by the SmartContractor Web sites include electrical, HVAC, mechanical, and plumbing.

The SmartContractor Web sites will comprise a business-to-business service accessible via the Internet where contractors can use hosted applications to manage their business operations, coordinate operations with other industry participants, and find or order any type of material necessary to complete their building projects on schedule. For more information, call (206) 770-7600 or visit www.SmartContractor.com.
