This article is evidence that the gate has swung way to far to the left... this "light pollution" crusade has gotten way out of hand just like air pollution ... the gate needs to swing back.

Hmmm... the implication of your comment is that wasting energy and money, creating glare for older drivers, using more light than is needed, and municipalities spending money that they don't need to (wasting taxpayer dollars unnecessarily) is a GOOD thing - all because the "light pollution crusade has gotten way out of hand." Do I have that about right? So I have to ask: Why do you like wasting taxpayer dollars, creating unsafe driving conditions for seniors, and using more energy than necessary to light exactly the same area? Explain how that's a good thing, because I'm not following your logic there. Thanks.

It is about time that people recognize the stupidity of wasting money on energy to light the undersides of clouds. In addition, any light fixtures that produce glare is poor lighting design.
