I am looking for input on using the simpull system (or equivalent). I am bidding a project to R/R a set of 480V feeders in excess of 1,000 ft and would like to know the pros and cons from fellow tradesmen.
Cost v. single conductors installation?
Maintenance: good/bad?
Ever delt with a single failed feeder with this system?
Anything else you can think of?
A second set of eyes on this would help greatly. Thanks in advance for the input.

Have had tremendous success with using "bundled" cables with pulling heads installed. Not sure if it could be done with this long of pull depending on size of conductor. One reel, connect to rope, start pulling! No wasted time watching one guy make up head, messing with 4 sets of reel jacks & trying to keep wires coming off reels evenly!

Run the math. It may be more cost effective to have an apprentice do the bundling.
