Updates Reflect Current Technology in Emergency Communications Systems

NEMASB 2 provides technical information on basic fire alarm systems in common usage. The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) revised NEMA SB 2-2016 Training Manual on Fire Alarm Systems to provide text material suitable for training persons in the proper physical installation of fire alarm signaling systems. This manual covers terminology, basic theory of operation, installation details, system startup techniques, and general maintenance.

NEMA SB 2 has been updated to reflect current fire alarm and detection technology including mass notification/emergency communications systems. It has been updated to include requirements from NFPA 72-2013.

NEMA SB 2-2016 is available in hard copy for $29 or as an electronic download at no cost on the NEMA website.
