BLM Ends Solar Plant Moratorium
After facing public opposition to a moratorium on applications to build solar plants on public lands, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has reversed its decision. The BLM wanted to put new applications for solar plants on federal land on hold while reviewing potential environmental impacts from such plants.
According to opponents of the moratorium, the process could have taken years. It also faced criticism from Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) who vowed to overturn it.
