The 2017 NEC is Here!
This conference will provide you with in-depth coverage of the most important changes in the 2017 National Electrical Code (NEC). This is a ‘must attend’ training event if you are an electrician, contractor, engineer, designer, or plant/facility maintenance person.
When thinking about whether or not you want to attend, keep in mind some of the topics that Brian House of Mike Holt Enterprises will cover at the two-day training event:
- Addition of working space requirements for 600V to 1,000V systems
- Revision to the condition under which structural steel qualifies as a grounding electrode
- Added EMT to the list of approved options for protecting conductors from physical damage as they emerge from below grade
- New requirement that allows power monitoring equipment to be installed in the cabinet gutter space
- Expanded and clarified AFCI requirements
- A revision now allows Type SE cable to be used as a temporary wiring method for branch circuits and feeders in exposed locations above ground and in underground raceways
- Revision of PV rapid shutdown requirement to introduce the concept of an array boundary
Course content is based on Mike Holt’s 2017 NEC Changes Textbook. The Illustrated Guide features:

Continuing Education and Professional Development Hours (PDHs):
EC&M Workplace Learning is certified as an approved provider by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) through that organization's Registered Continuing Education Provider Program (RCEPP). If you are a registered professional engineer and attend one of our 2017 Code Change Conferences, you will be granted 16 Professional Development Hours (PDHs) to help you meet your state's requirement for re-licensing.

Our Code change conference program is also certified as an approved provider of NEC training by those states requiring continuing education for re-licensing of journeyman, master electricians, and electrical contractors. By attending one of our conferences, you will receive continuing education hours, pending final approval and adoption from various states. State approvals are being processed and will be posted as approved.
Brian House of Mike Holt Enterprises – recognized NEC authority and trainer
Brian House is a certified Mike Holt Instructor and Technical Director at Mike Holt Enterprises. He began teaching seminars in 2000, and in that year he joined the elite group of instructors that attended Mike Holt’s Train the Trainer boot camp. Brian was personally selected for development by Mike Holt after being named as one of the top presenters in that class.
Today, as Technical Director for Mike Holt Enterprises, Brian helps Mike bring his products to the market, as well as manages the curriculum development for Apprenticeship programs nationally. He played a key role for the 2017 NEC Mike Holt products by assisting in the re-writing and editing of the textbooks, coordinating the content and illustrations, and assuring the technical accuracy and flow of the information. From the 1990s, as a licensed unlimited electrical contractor, Brian ran a contracting firm that did everything from single family homes to industrial manufacturing.
His extensive first-hand experience and skills, along with Mike Holt’s instructor training have enabled him to develop a teaching style that is practical, straightforward, and refreshing. Brian travels across the country to teach Mike Holt seminars to groups that include electricians, instructors, the military, and engineers.
