STV Hires VP and Director of Project Controls

Christopher W. Bailey has joined STV as VP and national director of project controls in the firm's Construction Management Division

Christopher W. Bailey has joined STV as VP and national director of project controls in the firm's Construction Management Division. In this role, Bailey will coordinate project controls including estimating, scheduling, and building information modeling (BIM) on the firm's national projects. He will be based in New York City.

Bailey is a renowned leader in BIM initiatives and has published numerous technical papers on this topic. He was a lead developer of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) BIM initiative platform and the co-author of a paper on 5D and the United States Standard Method of Measurement. In addition, Bailey has given lectures on 3D modeling and 5D development at Columbia University in New York, Pratt Institute of New York, the New York State Surety Bond Program at York College, as well as the Construction Managers Association of America annual conference.

Prior to joining STV, Bailey was a VP and national director of project controls at a construction management company. He studied quantity surveying and business management at Guilford College in the United Kingdom. He is a fellow of the RICS, and the Association of Cost Engineers, and a member of the National Institute for Building Sciences, the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering and the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science. He was elected to chair the RICS Americas Construction Council and leads their Industry Advisory Group
