Thomas & Betts celebrates golden anniversary of the original cable tie

Memphis, Tenn.-based Thomas & Betts is celebrating 50 years of Ty-Rap, the original cable tie. Each tie is a small, lightweight, one-piece, self-fastening plastic strap that can be used to securely bundle cables and wire.

“We’re proud to be the company that brought this innovation to the world,” says Dominic Pileggi, CEO, Thomas & Betts. “Over the past 50 years, Ty-Rap has become an indispensable part of everyday life.”
