Company hopes to expand portfolio with acquisition

Memphis, Tenn.-based Thomas & Betts Corp. recently announced plans to buy Cleveland-based Lamson & Sessions Co. for approximately $426.6 million. The company said the deal will help expand its portfolio and strengthen its relationship with distributors.

The deal is expected to close later this year, subject to Lamson & Sessions shareholder approval and other customary closing conditions.
