SAP AG, Orlando, Fla., and eBay Inc., recently announced they have entered into a new relationship that will let SAP customers sell their idle assets on eBay.

The new joint solution comprises software and services and will use eBay’s application programming interfaces (APIs) to connect to eBay’s online services and provide the integration and tight interoperability of data from SAP R/3 and mySAP CRM to the online marketplace.

The initial focus of the joint initiative will be on the North American market, with European countries and others expected to follow. The two companies hope to make the solution generally available in the first quarter of 2004.
