Power Tool Institute Launches Improved Website

Company promotes safety in handling power tools through user-friendly features

The Power Tool Institute (PTI), Cleveland, recently launched its newly revamped Web site, which includes simple navigation, online ordering of publications, and easy-to-view videos. The site also features downloadable pdfs of PTI’s publications, "Safety Is Specific" and "A Teacher’s Reference Guide to Power Tool Safety."

Other site features include four safety videos in both English and Spanish, which can be viewed immediately or can be ordered on DVD; manufacturer members’ profiles with links to their Web sites; a glossary of common power tool terms; PTI Voluntary Procedures, including the PTI Procedure for Determining Power Tool Horsepower and the PTI Lab Test Procedure for Determining Stated Relative Torque Measurement for Corded and Cordless Drills, Drill/Drivers, and Screwdrivers; power tool advisories; information about rechargeable battery recycling; and a safety maintenance checklist.
