Most respondents are positive about fourth quarter sales as 72% of respondents predict a positive gain. Respondents in the Midwest are the most optimistic about fourth quarter sales, with 76.4% respondents expecting an increase. However, some are still cautious, as 11% expect no movement and 17% expect a negative turn in sales.

NAED sent the survey to about 3,500 distributor locations in early October to obtain the previous quarter’s and upcoming quarter’s sales change expectations. The next survey is scheduled for January.
