Michaels Engineering is pleased to announce that Wane A. Baker, division manager and sSenior consultant, has been reappointed to serve a three-year term on ASHRAE's Environmental Health Committee (EHC). In addition to serving ASHRAE leadership as a resource on environmental health topics, the EHC is responsible for the IAQ and environmental health content of the ASHRAE handbooks and coordinates the triennial ASHRAE IAQ Conferences, including IAQ 2013: Environmental Health in Low-Energy Buildings to be held October 15-18, 2013, in Vancouver, Canada.
The committee is charged with identifying major environmental health trends impacting the HVAC&R industries and has published a series of Emerging Issue Reports that cover topics from legionellosis to ozone and indoor air chemistry. The EHC has also sponsored dozens of ASHRAE Research Projects that explore the health impacts of ventilation, thermal conditioning and related indoor environmental control technologies.
