Total construction activity for March 2013 came in at $856.7 billion, which marks a 1.7% decline from the revised February 2013 total of $871.2 billion. Private construction reached $598.4 billion, with $294.9 billion for residential and $303.5 billion for nonresidential. The value of construction put in place for public projects came to $258.3 billion.
