Kaiser Electric Completes New Mungenast Hyundai Dealership in Hazelwood

April 4, 2012
Kaiser Electric has completed construction on a new $7 million Mungenast Hyundai dealership in Hazelwood, Mo.

Kaiser Electric has completed construction on a new $7 million Mungenast Hyundai dealership in Hazelwood, Mo. "We are really proud of this," said Kurt Mungenast, dealer principal at Mungenast Hyundai, in a City of Hazelwood online article. "The dealership will soon be able to meet more customer needs, both service and selection-wise, since the up-and-coming location will be bigger than our current one."

Kaiser Electric was hired to design/build the electrical system and lighting for the 33,000-sq-ft dealership. Construction began in August 2011 and was completed on time and within budget in March 2012.

The new Mungenast Hyundai dealership features 16 service bays, car wash, three detailing bays, a single-story showroom and office area, information kiosks, children's playrooms, several beverage stations, indoor vehicle pick-up and drop-off areas, and areas with Wi-Fi, TVs and various seating arrangements.

Kaiser Electric crews installed the facility's lighting, wiring and security/fire systems, which include a lighting control panel, occupancy sensor lighting and use of 750W pulse-start lighting in the parking lot fixtures to conserve energy.

The architect on the project was HDA Architects, St. Louis, and the general contractor was Holland Construction, Swansea, Ill.

Two years ago, Kaiser Electric designed and built the electrical system for the 70,000-sq-ft Dave Mungenast Lexus of St. Louis, one of the country's first LEED Silver Lexus dealerships.
