Hubbell Inc., Christainsburg, Va., recently signed a definitive agreement to acquire LCA Group Inc., the domestic lighting division of U.S. Industries, Inc. (USI), Iselin, N.J., for $250 million in cash. Hubbell Inc., Christainsburg, Va., recently signed a definitive agreement to acquire LCA Group Inc., the domestic lighting division of U.S. Industries, Inc. (USI), Iselin, N.J., for $250 million in cash. The parent company of Hubbell Lighting expects to complete the transaction, which is subject to customary closing conditions, some time in the second quarter.
USI’s lighting group had 2001 sales of more than $575 million. Some of its brand names include Columbia Lighting, Dual-Lite, and Spaulding Lighting.
The acquisition comes on the heels of Hubbell’s purchase of MyTech Corp., Austin, Texas, last October and Hawke International, Houston, earlier this month.
