Wayne J. Griffin Electric, Inc. has completed the electrical installation work at the Cambridge Rindge and Latin School in Cambridge, Mass. The 403,000-square-foot high school recently underwent a gut-renovation and modernization, which consisted of the addition of technologically advanced classrooms, an updated library, and new food court, as well as, a new arts building for the institution’s nationally-recognized theater arts program.
Griffin Electric was responsible for the installation of new lighting, lighting controls, and power within the facility, plus systems for fire alarm, sound/paging and lightning protection. Additionally, the Griffin team installed a generator, telecommunications and distribution equipment, as well as, photovoltaic panels on-site.
Consigli Construction Co., Inc., in joint venture with J&J Contractors, Inc., of Milford, Mass., served as the project’s general contractor, while HMFH Architects, Inc. of Cambridge, Mass., was the architect, and TMP Consulting Engineers, Boston, the electrical engineer.
The project is expecting a LEED Silver certification.
