Girard Engineering, PC, a leading mechanical/electrical consulting engineering firm, has announced the promotion of Christos Alexandrou, P.E.; Paul Bowyer, CPD; and Andrew Harvey, P.E., to associates with the firm.

Christos Alexandrou, P.E., joined Girard Engineering in 1998 and has designed electrical systems ranging from lighting to fire alarm systems for a variety of projects including new construction, renovations, and tenant fit-outs. A graduate of Old Dominion University, Alexandrou obtained his Professional Engineer registration in 2007.

Alexandrou’s current projects include new residences at Fort Totten Square, the U.S. Coast Guard headquarters on the West Campus of St. Elizabeths Hospital, and the new 733 10th and G Street, NW, office building, all in Washington, D.C.

Paul Bowyer, CPD, has been with Girard Engineering for ten years. A graduate of the West Virginia University Institute of Technology, Bowyer obtained his Certified in Plumbing Design registration in 2010. He has been involved in a wide variety of commercial and institutional building projects, including both new construction and complex renovations. His responsibilities include project design, calculations, and specifications.

Bowyer’s current projects include the mixed-use CityMarket at O, the expansion and renovation of the Cato Institute, and New York University’s (NYU DC) new academic center and dormitory, all in Washington, D.C.

Andrew Harvey, P.E., has been with Girard Engineering since 2002, when he graduated from Kansas State University. Harvey has been involved with electrical design for a variety of projects, including new construction, renovations, and tenant fit-outs. His expertise includes electrical power distribution, lighting, fire alarm systems, and standby/emergency power systems. Harvey obtained his P.E. registration in 2007 and is a pivotal member of the firm’s IT staff.

Harvey’s current projects include the U.S. Coast Guard headquarters; expansion and renovation of the Hay-Adams Hotel; and an office/retail building at 2055 L Street, NW, all in Washington, D.C.
