Electrical/Utility Engineer The U.S. Department of State, Overseas Buildings Operation (OBO), Operations and Maintenance Office (OM), Facility Management Division has an opening for an Electrical/Utility Engineer in the Utility Management Program. The incumbent is responsible for providing engineering and technical services for cost effective, reliable, and maintainable building operations and utilities.

Electrical/Utility Engineer

The U.S. Department of State, Overseas Buildings Operation (OBO), Operations and Maintenance Office (OM), Facility Management Division has an opening for an Electrical/Utility Engineer in the Utility Management Program. The incumbent is responsible for providing engineering and technical services for cost effective, reliable, and maintainable building operations and utilities. Mandatory Requirements: Applicants must be a U.S. citizen. Failure to state this on original application will render you ineligible for consideration. Successful completion of a Department of State Secret security clearance with possible upgrade to Top Secret is required. Applicants must possess extensive knowledge in condition assessment, analysis, specification and procurement of building electrical systems. This includes diesel engine-generators, power transfer and control equipment, voltage regulators, uninterruptible power systems and low and medium voltage distribution. Applicants must possess expertise in analysis and application of utility rates and metering. Must be registered as a professional engineer. Must have a degree from an accredited university as an Engineer with at least five years of electrical engineering experience. Applicant must be team oriented with excellent communication skills. Position requires frequent overseas travel. Position is a one-year renewable personal service contract at the GS-13 ($66,229 - $86,095) or GS-14 ($78,265 - $101,742) equivalent grade level depending on education and experience.
