Sylvania Lighting Services, a subsidiary of lighting manufacturer Osram Sylvania, Danvers, Mass., has signed an agreement to buy the operating assets of Amtech Lighting Services from ABM Industries, New York. The transaction is expected to close prior to Oct. 31, subject to customary closing conditions.

Beaverton, Ore.-basedTTektronix, Inc., a provider of test, measurement and monitoring instrumentation, announced plans to open a series of Test & Measurement Centers of Excellence around the world equipped with state-of-the-art technology. Each center will be staffed by application engineers to consult with customers and demonstrate testing solutions for high speed serial data technologies, such as Serial ATA and DisplayPort. The first centers are planned for Santa Clara, Calif.; Shanghai, China; Taipei, Taiwan; and Tokyo.
