Bison Gear & Engineering Corp.

St. Charles, Ill.-based Bison Gear & Engineering Corp. has acquired the brushless DC (BLDC) electric motor business of Von Weise of Canada Co. The product line includes low-voltage (12V-24V) BLDC motors ranging from 80W to 225W (0.1 hp to 0.3 hp) with integral multifunction speed controls.

Capstone Turbine Corp.

Chatsworth, Calif.-based Capstone Turbine Corp. has named Western Energy Systems, Brea, Calif., its distributor in Northern California, Alaska, Hawaii, Oregon, and Washington. Western Energy Systems, part of Penn Energy Solutions and a subsidiary of Penn Power Group, is a clean-tech, green business that provides comprehensive energy-efficient power generation equipment and service solutions.

Jefferson Electric, Inc.

Franklin, Wis.-based Jefferson Electric, Inc., privately held manufacturer and supplier of dry‐type transformers and lighting ballasts for commercial, industrial, and OEM customers, has merged with Pioneer Power Solutions, Inc., Fort Lee, N.J. Jefferson will now operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Pioneer.
