Columbia Electric, MECAG, NESCO
  • Brockton, Mass.-based Columbia Electric Supply Inc., recently announced plans to open its fourth location, an 8300-square-foot storefront in Boston. Geoff Murphy, president of Columbia Electric, made the announcement today and said that buildout for the new location, expected to open in August 2007, is underway.
  • Laurel, Md.-based MECAG LLC, recently completed the acquisition of substantially all of the operating assets of Mobern Electric Corp. MECAG LLC will relaunch the company as Mobern Lighting Company and will continue to operate out of the 150,000-square-foot facility with essentially the entire existing workforce in place.
  • Canton, Mass.-based NESCO has acquired Yankee Electric Supply, headquartered in Winooski, Vt., with branch locations in Winooski and Morrisville, Vt., and in Lebanon and Woodsville, N.H. Yankee Electric Supply will continue to operate under its name as a division of NESCO, Needham Electric Supply.
