  • The Omaha Public Power District Board of Directors recently finalized plans to upgrade a 345kV transmission line, which runs approximately 50 miles from the Nebraska City Power Station to an area near Rulo, Neb. L.E. Myers, Marshalltown, Iowa, was approved to install “PhaseRaisers” to raise the height of 80 pole structures supporting the line.
  • Highland, Ill.-based Basler Electric recently acquired the Cutler Hammer Excitation Control product line. Also included in the acquisition were the excitation products and designs from the Westinghouse Distribution & Control business that became part of Cutler Hammer in 1994.
  • Pittsburgh-based Emerson Process Management recently won a contract to install PlantWeb at Nebraska City Station Unit No. 2, a new sub-critical pulverized coal plant to be operated by Omaha Public Power District (OPPD). The 660MW unit will be built adjacent to OPPD’s existing Nebraska City Station Unit No. 1 facility, located along the Missouri River.
