  • Levitt and Sons recently selected Winter Park, Fla.-based Palmer Electric Co., to provide electrical contracting and fire alarm systems for a new clubhouse under construction at The Cascades at Groveland in Groveland, Fla. Palmer plans to complete its $876,000 contract in November of this year on the four-building complex that includes a 38,000-square-foot golf and community clubhouse with 4,000-square-feet of covered veranda, a tennis pavilion, a pool and spa building, and a pool cabana.
  • Franklin Park, Ill.-based Garvin Industries, a leading electrical manufacturer based in Franklin Park, IL recently formed a strategic alliance with lighting manufacturer EiKo USA, Shawnee, Kan. The first step in the alliance will be for EiKo to use Garvin Industries’ distributor network to further promote and sell EiKo industrial lighting products.
  • Gripple Limited, Sheffield, United Kingdom, recently opened its first overseas manufacturing facility in the United States. Chicago-based Gripple Inc experienced a staff increase from four to 25 and year-on-year doubled sales, with further significant growth expected this year.
