ABB, GE Motors, Fluor Corp.
  • New Berlin, Wis.-based ABB Low-Voltage Drives recently renovated the receiving area for its factory. The three new receiving doors and dock complete a $1.2 million, two-year capital investment project.
  • GE Motors recently received the largest order in the history of the company's Large Motors & Generators business. The $18.5 million order from Ivanhoe Mines includes four quadramatic drives and controls powering eight large, slow-speed, synchronous-ball mill motors for its Qyu Tolgoi gold and copper mine in the Gobi desert in Mongolia.
  • Irving, Texas-based Fluor Corp. was awarded a five-year renewal contract to continue supplying power-plant maintenance and capital project support services to multiple Luminant, Dallas, sites. The services will be performed at 18 Luminant power-generating stations in Texas with a capacity of approximately 16,000MW, making this one of the largest maintenance contracts in the U.S. electric utility industry.
