The convergence of security systems such as access control and surveillance onto the network places much of the responsibility for future security designs into the hands of ITS professionals. For more information on the BICSI electronic safety and security program, visit the BICSI Web site.

With significant changes from the first edition, the new manual provides key elements essential to anyone in ITS design, including:

  • Principles of security
  • ESS design process
  • Access control

  • Intrusion detection systems
  • Fire detection and alarm systems
  • Notification, communication, and display devices
  • Special systems
