This AFCI is the size of a common residential circuit breaker and is equipped with a built-in electronic trip indicator. It’s designed to mitigate the effects of arcing faults produced by worn insulation, damaged wire, loose connections, misapplied or damaged appliances, or stressed electrical cords. Incorporating a thermal magnetic circuit breaker with electronics designed to recognize and interrupt arc faults, a solenoid flags when an arc is detected. The AFCI also provides thermal, short-circuit, and overload protection.
