Serving the industrial, commercial/construction, utility, and data communication sectors, SourceAlliance.com now offers more than 1 million products (from more than 300 manufacturers' brands) through its online portal.

Launched last year by Rockwell Automation, SourceAlliance.com carries electrical products such as building wire, construction materials, lighting, and distribution control products. Since that time, it has spun off into an independent company and attracted prominent electrical manufacturers to invest in the $25 million first round of equity. Partners include Cooper Industries, Eaton's Cutler-Hammer Group, Emerson Electric EGS Electrical Group, Genlyte Thomas Group, Hoffman/Pentair, Leviton Manufacturing Co., OSRAM Sylvania/Siemens Energy and Automation, Southwire, Thomas & Betts, and Panduit. SourceAlliance.com is using these funds to accelerate development of the largest online electrical marketplace in the industry, which is estimated to be a $300 billion market worldwide.

Finally, SourceAlliance.com recently announced it plans to form a strategic alliance with IMARK Group that could more than double the number of distributor locations in the company's network. This agreement extends an opportunity to members of IMARK (a group of more than 185 independent electrical distributors who operate more than 950 branch locations) to join the SourceAlliance.com distribution network of 92 distributors with 650 locations.
