The #93 Amoco-Siemens racing team, High Point, N.C., replaced its hood and rear deck logos with symbols of the American Red Cross and the Fire Department of New York (FDNY) for the Sept. 16 NASCAR Winston Cup Series race at Dover Downs International Speedway. The American Red Cross logo replaced Amoco Ultimate branding on the hood, accompanied by contact information. In addition, the official shield of the FDNY replaced Siemens' deck-lid signage on the Dave Blaney-driven Dodge. Blaney and team owner Bill Davis raised relief funds in a lap-to-lap program. Amoco, Siemens, Davis, and Blaney contributed $10 per lap for every lap Blaney ran during the 400-lap race, and the group will donate the total to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.
