Cooper Releases Workshop Schedule

The schedule of technical workshops for 2001 from Cooper Power Systems' Systems Engineering Group is now available. The workshops, taught by experts with practical field experience, offer technical content and hands-on demonstration equipment. NLSC Acquires Northwest Lighting

NLSC Products, Golden Valley, Minn., has acquired the assets of Northwest Lighting Systems, Amherst, N.H., from the estate of James D. Miller, who founded the company in 1991. The company will operate under the Northwest Lighting Systems name and be headquartered in Golden Valley.

Fuel Cell Market Expected to Expand

The fuel cell industry is expected to expand significantly during the next decade to meet the demand for new energy resources, says a report from Allied Business Intelligence, Oyster Bay, N.Y.

“Fuel Cell markets have attracted a great deal of attention in the last two years,” says Atakan Ozbek, ABI's director of energy research.

NERC Makes Changes to Board of Trustees

The North American Electric Reliability Council (NERC) recently changed its governance to a new, 10-member independent board of trustees, replacing a 47-member board, which comprised stakeholders and independent members. These changes take effect immediately and continue NERC's transition to a self-regulatory reliability organization known as the North American Electric Reliability Organization.

EC&M Recognizes Passing of a Friend

We are saddened to announce the passing of Paul E. Pritzker, a good friend and colleague of the EC&M editorial staff, on March 29. Paul was a frequent contributor to the magazine's Forensic Casebook department. We extend our deepest sympathies to his wife Janice and sons Roger, Bruce, and Arthur.
