Antitrust Lawsuit Filed in New York
According to a recent edition of BICSI News, telecommunications contractors U.S. Information Systems, Inc. (USIS) and the Odyssey Group, Inc. brought an antitrust lawsuit in New York federal district court in Manhattan against the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 3 and six electrical contractors that employ Local 3 workers. In their complaint, USIS and Odyssey state the antitrust violations result in $50 million in damages. Both companies contend that, for the past few years, legitimate and competent telecommunications contractors have been prevented from engaging in fair competition in the bidding, award, and completion of telecommunications construction projects within the New York Metropolitan area.
