Quanta Closes $160 Million Fiber-Optic Agreement
Quanta Services Inc., Houston, has entered into a $160 million, two-year agreement with fiber-optic communications infrastructure provider PF.Net through its Northern Line Layers Inc. business unit. Under the terms of the deal, Northern Line Layers will install a portion of PF.Net’s nationwide broadband fiber-optic network.

Kent Datacomm Finalizes Acquisition
Kent Electronics Corp.’s Kent Datacomm division, Houston, has completed the acquisition of Orange Coast Datacomm, Inc., Orange Coast Cabling, Inc. and Go Telecomm, Inc.— three California-based network integrators comprising the Orange Coast Companies. These companies provide voice/data network solutions to major corporations. The companies, with combined 1998 sales of about $19 million, have offices in Irvine and Santa Clara, Calif., and employ about 110 people.
