IPL Commits $400 Million to Energy-Efficiency Plans

Cedar Rapids, Iowa-based Interstate Power and Light Co. (IPL), a subsidiary of Alliant Energy Corp., Madison, Wis., recently filed its proposed 2009-2013 Energy Efficiency Plan (EEP) with the Iowa Utilities Board (IUB).

Cedar Rapids, Iowa-based Interstate Power and Light Co. (IPL), a subsidiary of Alliant Energy Corp., Madison, Wis., recently filed its proposed 2009-2013 Energy Efficiency Plan (EEP) with the Iowa Utilities Board (IUB). The proposed EEP includes a commitment of approximately $400 million to electric and natural gas energy efficiency customer programs over the next five years.

IPL’s proposed EEP includes programs for residential, agricultural, commercial, and industrial electric and natural gas customers. It also offers many of the cash rebate and energy audit programs currently offered by IPL. The company expects to receive an IUB decision on the plan in the fourth quarter of 2008.
