Arizona and Colorado Lead Rocky Mountain Region on Industrial Plant Front

Sugar Land, Texas-based Industrial Info Resources (IIR) reports that the Rocky Mountain Region, made up of Arizona, Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, and Wyoming, features a solid base of industrial plants. Out of the region's 2,100 operational plants, Colorado and Arizona possess the majority. When combined, Colorado's 490 and Arizona's 345 sites total 38% of the Rocky Mountain Region's operational plants.

The majority of Colorado's 490 sites are concentrated within the food and beverage area, with a total of 84 production sites. Of Arizona's 345 plants, the lion's share is in the industrial manufacturing sector, which totals 92 sites.

According to IIR, Arizona and Colorado also have the largest number of future plant locations, with respectively 75 and 57 sites in various states of development. As a whole, the Rocky Mountain Region claims a total of 375 proposed facilities either in planning, engineering, or construction phases.
