UL Warns of EMT with Inadequate Corrosion Protection
Northbrook, Ill.-based Underwriters Laboratories (UL) is notifying authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs), electrical contractors, electricians, and retailers that the electrical metallic tubing (EMT) products manufactured by Guangdong Walsall Steel Pipe Industrial Co. may not be adequately protected against corrosion. Although these products display a UL listing mark for the United States and Canada, products purchased at retailers and distributors were found not to comply with U.S. or Canadian safety standards and are not authorized to bear the UL mark.
