Dynalectric Co.-Georgia Installing Electrical Systems for New Nursing School

Dynalectric Co.-Georgia has been awarded a contract for the installation of electrical systems at a new School of Nursing at the University of West Georgia in Carrollton, Ga.

Dynalectric Co.-Georgia, an electrical contractor serving the southeastern United States, is a subsidiary of EMCOR Group, Inc.

The new School of Nursing will be a three-story building totaling approximately 62,000 square feet. The facility will house a variety of instructional spaces, including a 135-seat auditorium, 65-seat tiered classroom, computer classroom and lab, and flexible classrooms, as well as administrative and faculty support spaces. The school's centerpiece is the second floor high-fidelity simulation environment, designed to prepare students to effectively enter the nursing workforce. A ground floor commons area will be a multifunctional space for students, faculty and staff that will be used for lectures, diners and other events.

Under its contract, Dynalectric Co.-Georgia is responsible for installation of the electrical systems, including primary underground service from the existing manhole, power distribution, lighting and lighting controls, lightning protection, fire alarm, security, nurse call, and telecommunications. The project is scheduled for completion in early 2013.

“We are extremely pleased to be working with the University of West Georgia on this important project," said Raymond Hopkins, president, Dynalectric Co.-Georgia. “This new state-of-the-art teaching facility will enable to school to greatly expand its nursing program, helping to alleviate what has become a critical shortage of trained nurses nationwide."
