Can I run a service entrance cable from main service panel to a sub panel, then from there install a breaker for Spa to a disc. with a GFCI breaker in it with in site of spa 15ft away.I beleave the code says I need an Insulated ground from service to spa that is located outside. Question is can the Ground from Main service to Sub panel be uninsulated ground?
Make a hot tub permanent versus temporary (storable)? I've just placed a hot tub onto a concrete slab and the Building Inspector is labeling as permanent, which opens up the need for additional bonding such as equipotential grids. As stated in one example, one can drain and move the hot tub around (making it non-permanent in my opinion), but it order to be in code the equipotential grid would need to be relocated as well. I think the NEC codebook needs to clearly define that a stand alone hot tub really is a non-permanent structure and therefore does not require this equipotential grid as in-ground pools do.
