This receptacle was installed on the side of a building near a parking lot curb. A car knocked it over and then flattened it with its tire. This is a common occurrence everywhere. This receptacle was installed on the side of a building near a parking lot curb. A car knocked it over and then flattened it with its tire. This is a common occurrence everywhere. This single conduit entry into the box violates a rule in Section 370-23(f) for raceway-supported enclosures, with devices or fixtures. An enclosure that contains a device(s) or supports a fixture(s) or other equipment and is supported by entering raceways cannot exceed 100 inches in length and 3 inches in diameter. It is required to have threaded entries or have hubs identified for the purpose and must be supported by “two or more conduits threaded wrenchtight” into the enclosure or hubs. Each conduit must also be secured within 18 inches of the enclosure.
