NFPA TO PROVIDE NE CODE INFORMATION TO MANUFACTURER WEB SITES

The National Fire Protection Association and ElectricSmarts.com have signed an exclusive agreement to provide manufacturers with National Electrical Code information for their Web sites.

Basically an NE Code-syndication, this service provides participating companies with clickable icons for specific NEC-related topics. These search icons would typically be placed beside product information where users could instantly access NEC requirements pertaining to a company's products. Examples of locations where these icons could be placed include electronic catalogs and online white papers.

Participating companies can select the Code topics germane to their products and purchase an annual license for online search access to those sections of the NEC. A group of search icons can be tailored by ElectricSmarts.com to provide the most relevant search results from the National Electrical Code based on the company's product focus.

In addition to placing search icons in context to their products, participating companies may also wish to feature the complete selection of those NEC search icons they have licensed in a special Code area on their Web site.
