John Escoto, electrical supervisor from the Coachella Valley, Calif., Water District, snapped this photo of a violation he found in a newly-installed pump station he was inspecting. He said, I guess the electrician thought that this support method was acceptable. The box straps were actually electrical metallic tubing straps that were hammered out to form the support brackets. Check out all of the silicone that was used to try to keep the integrity of the box. We also found a threadless connector on the end of a piece of conduit that was already threaded.
Note: Section 348-14 requires that boxes and fittings must comply with the applicable provisions of Article 370.
