ECM Buyers' Guide

EC&M's Exclusive Online Report on the 2004 Top 40

While the nation’s largest electrical design firms endured a severe downturn in the market, they’re now starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel. Construction economists don’t forecast a recovery until 2005, but electrical design firms are already starting to see signs that the market may finally be turning around. To give our readers an overview of the major players in the electrical design market, EC&M surveyed the nation's largest electrical design firms for its 2004 listing. This annual report includes detailed capsule summaries for each company, informative sidebars, and photos of their recent electrical construction projects. The summaries include:

  • The firms’ headquarters and branch office locations
  • Number of employees
  • Total revenue for design services in 2003
  • Percentage of revenue that was related to electrical design
  • Forecast for 2004 sales
  • Percentage of design work in certain market segments
  • Areas of expertise
  • Percentage of design work that is design/build or design/assist
  • Hot and cool markets
  • Challenges for 2004
  • Recent electrical design projects
The report also includes a copy of the survey and cover letter sent to the design firms and complete contact information for each firm. The report will soon be available on EC&M's Research page.
